I purchased these puck LED lights to replace some older 20 watt halogen puck lights under my kitchen cabinets. The halogen lights would get so hot I was concerned that they might start a fire if paper towels or cloth appliance covers got too near them. The heat also degraded the cheap plastic housings on the old halogen lights over time. I am extremely pleased with the new all aluminum LED puck lights. They seem to produce just as much light as the old 20 watt halogen lights, but they produce virtually no heat at all, and the aluminum construction seems to be of much higher quality that my old plastic units. They obviously consume far less power, 3 watts each instead of 20 watts per light. They are just slightly less yellow (cooler) in color than the old halogens, and I think that their color balance is perfect for a kitchen. These lights come with mounting two screws and were very easy to install. I liked them so much that I purchased some additional units to install inside some display cabinets. Interestingly, since these are 12 volt units, I ended up remove the 120 converter that came with the box and just leave all voltage wiring, you’ll have to buy a 50-60w 12 volt power supply depending on the amount of light you connect together. With the DC power supply (red is positive, black is negative) they are now a bit brighter and totally quiet. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
Bottom line: this is a great quality aluminum LED puck, good color temperature, super easy to install and can connect multiple together with a higher wattage 12V LED power supply.
